Precautions
Before you start
Strand testAlways carry it out before the service.
Condition of the fibreDo not treat hair that shows significant fragility, breakage or abnormal elasticity.
Do not combine servicesDo not bleach and straighten in the same session.
Times and flat-iron parameters are working technical references: see stages 04 and 07 of the instructions.

8 stages of the service

01CLEANSING
Professional recommendation
Cleanse with preparing shampoo pH 8.5.
Apply once when the hair is in a normal state of cleanliness. Apply a second time when there are build-ups of grease, cosmetic residues or styling products.
There is no need to set three washes as the usual procedure.
Technical criterion Ensure an even preparation of the hair before the treatment.
02PRE-BLOW-DRY
Professional recommendation
Remove excess moisture with a towel and carry out a complete blow-dry with a brush and dryer.
Dry the hair 100%, keeping a controlled tension and favouring prior alignment.
Technical criterion Make an even application possible on a previously organised fibre.
03TREATMENT APPLICATION
Professional recommendation
Divide the hair into four main sections.
Start at the nape or in the most resistant areas.
Work with fine partitions, approximately 0.5 to 1 cm, adapted to hair density.
Apply the treatment with a brush, keeping about 1 cm from the scalp.
Spread evenly with a comb, avoiding build-ups and excess product. Coverage sets the amount: every strand fully covered, with no dripping or build-up.
Technical criterion Ensure even coverage and control of the amount applied.
04PROCESSING TIME
This table is exclusively for thick, resistant and healthy hair. It does not apply to blonde or weakened hair.
Treatment
Processing time
Smooth Intense
50–70 minutes
Tanino Gloss
40–60 minutes
Protocol times and temperatures. Adjust according to the hair diagnosis and carry out a strand test.
Professional recommendation
Once the application is complete, comb through to check how the product is distributed.
Keep the hair organised during processing, without continuous handling or additional heat not included in the procedure.
Technical criterion Keep the exposure even, avoiding handling that alters the distribution of the treatment.
05RINSING AND CONDITIONING
Professional recommendation
When processing is complete, remove the product according to the treatment's specific procedure.
We recommend considering a professional conditioning mask compatible with the treatment, after completing the necessary chemical stages. The mask does not replace a chemical neutraliser when one is needed.
Technical criterion Remove the product evenly and prepare the hair for the next stage.
06HEAT PROTECTION AND DRYING
Professional recommendation
We recommend applying a professional heat protector compatible with the treatment, spread evenly.
Dry completely before flat-ironing.
Technical criterion Favour even thermal work and reduce unnecessary exposure of the fibre.
07PROFESSIONAL FLAT-IRONING
This table is exclusively for thick, resistant and healthy hair. It does not apply to blonde or weakened hair.
Treatment
Reference temperature
Passes per section
Smooth Intense
200–230 °C
8–12 passes
Tanino Gloss
200–230 °C
10–15 passes
Protocol times and temperatures. Adjust according to the hair diagnosis and carry out a strand test.
Work from the nape, with fine partitions of about 3–5 mm, a guide comb and continuous gliding.
Real temperature. The temperature shown on the flat iron's display may differ from the real temperature of the plates.
Professional recommendation
Recommended equipment: professional high-performance flat iron with adjustable temperature, even heat distribution and good thermal recovery.
Technical criterion Balance real temperature, partition thickness, speed and number of passes.
08FINISHING AND FIRST WASH
Professional recommendation
Finish the service according to each treatment's procedure, without adding unnecessary finishing products.
First wash: the usual advice is to wait 72 hours. Never on the same day as the service. This is the protocol's timing.
Technical criterion Close the service according to each treatment's specific procedure.

Frequently asked questions
Professional answers
When can I wash the hair after straightening?
The usual advice is to wait 72 hours. We do not recommend washing on the same day: the straightening needs that time to settle. It applies to Smooth Intense and Tanino Gloss.
What do I do if an area doesn't come out smooth?
First check the cause: fully dry hair, coverage of every strand, full exposure time, fine sections (3–5 mm) and the real temperature of the plates. Do not compensate with more passes or more heat. If the area did not straighten, wait 2 weeks and repeat the treatment only on that area (nape, hairline or thick strands), with finer sections and the full time. Never apply it over lengths that already received the treatment or over damaged hair. Before repeating, wash with a clarifying shampoo.
How do I adjust the flat iron temperature?
The protocol works between 200 and 230 °C. Use 200–210 °C on thick but less resistant hair and 220–230 °C on the most resistant. Check the real temperature of the plates, as the display can differ. Never exceed 230 °C.
How many passes should I make? Do more passes give a better result?
Smooth Intense: 8 to 12 passes per strand. Tanino Gloss: 10 to 15. More passes do not give more straightening: they leave the ends stiff, dull and fragile. Stop when the strand is smooth and shiny.
On which hair should I not apply it?
Blonde or weakened hair: this protocol is not designed for them. Also not on hair with breakage or abnormal elasticity, or with a wounded or irritated scalp. Do not combine straightening with bleaching or another chemical service on the same day: separate them by at least 2 weeks. Always do a strand test.
What safety measures should I take when applying it?
Work in a ventilated space and wear gloves. Keep 1 cm from the scalp when applying. Avoid contact with eyes and skin: if it happens, rinse with plenty of water.
